PK : The formal objection !

There were several reasons to watch PK. The most obvious was it being a Amir Khan's movie and the other was  the hue and cry over it. Though the controversy around it never affected me  but I must say that I was trying to steal time to watch it. When the news were doing the rounds I was enjoying the Kavitas , chutkule and the funny cartoons trending on fb, whatsapp and twitter. Some poems were really good. Some jokes were outstanding and last but not the least , News channels  did a great job in the panel discussions, in inviting people from different fields to discuss Hinduism and how the film was doing well. The debate on whether this  film should be made  tax  free or not  and I was really amazed when Akhilesh Yadav made it Tax free actually. That was the moment when I Knew that there is something in the movie which was not related to ENTERTAINMENT, entertainment and entertainment.

Starting from a fan's point of view, we don't go to see Amir Khan's movie just because he is a good actor but also for the subject he chooses. Well that's a well-known fact. but  looking back to the kind of films or better to say the scripts he has chosen, for me PK was a mistake for Amir Khan ,not as an actor but as a  person who projects himself  and actually proved himself as a nationalist . Weak script, weak storyline, a very  abrupt and unconvincing climax, I rather avoid to comment on the other actors because for them acting with Amir and  a Raj kumar Hirani's film was all that mattered. Though it is not important but I have to make my stand so here are some reasons why I did not like this film.
First of all, Didn't Anushka Sharma really  know  Sushant's handwriting ? and she just read the letter once and  she didn't call him. Seriously?   I must say  girls are not like that. They will call you like hell. They just can't let their love go like this.
The base of the climax was a stupid decision of a girl who decided to get married just to prove someone wrong. The message filmmakers wanted to convey came as a climax of some Karan Johar's romantic and unreal movie and like Chetan Bhagat's surreal co incidence in Half Girlfiend. so I just could not connect with it.

Now the part which is important for me. In  India we do have a right to expression but there has to be a right approach . What has been shown in PK is not just a part of a movie, somewhere it is deep routed in the mind of people and this is a threat to society. Before  moving further I want to make it clear that I accept that there are drawbacks, flaws and problems in our social system but the way we are being targeted is not acceptable and when I say we , it obviously means Hindus . If we are being targeted ,then we have to stop being diplomatic .We are proud of the fact that we  respect every religious system but at the same time it does not mean that if we try to clarify and justify our stand, we are biased or not secular.

First of all , social system and religion are two different aspects . Things which are a part of a social system may not be related with  or defined by a religious thought. Religion is not  what we are born with, it is more about how are we  practicing  it and when it is about Hinduism , it is not just restricted to how people are practicing it but also how it has been told to practice. I always try to make it my point that every religious thought has somehow lost its way and it needs to be reinterpreted and that is what we should be doing. People from every religion should be doing this.

If somebody is really concerned about the way people are made fool, please invest your money in building a good hospital so that people would prefer to go and see a doctor instead of going to Babas or Maulavis. A Tv soap or a film looks good when we are not aware of the problems but when we know the problems, we should think about the solution.

Coming back to PK,  Does it make any sense now? By the time I  started writing , People have forgotten PK. What left behind is the Box Office collection in crores, box office record,  filmy Awards  and nominations for filmy people. Hindus are still going to temple and slippers are still being stolen but  it is still not clear  that people who steals slippers are Hindus/Muslims/Christians/converted Christians/Converted Muslims and now a days Converted Hindus can be found also.

So what was the film all about? I am still confused whether the filmmakers  wanted people to become atheist or they wanted  only Hindus to convert themselves in some alien's religion.

The awareness will not come by misinterpretation. The first step towards awareness is to convince people  and that requires the true interpretation. I would have loved if at least one dialogue of the movie would have been  there to tell what Hindu Dharm has to say on the issues being raised in the movie.

I quote Sri Ram charita Manas  ;
Balakand

"Vande Bodhmayam Nityam Guru Shankar rupinam |
Yamashritohi vakropi chandram sarvatra vandyate ||"

I bow before eternal knowledgeable teacher like Shankara, getting trust in whom even crooked moon became praised everywhere.

That is what Hinduism says about the concept of Guru. If somebody really wants to object the bad being practiced, please spread this message. Make people understand and making a movie won't convince people to stop going to fraudsters. The true knowledge and understanding has to be there in the mind and conscious . This one shlok/hymn  is enough to abolish the whole system of  people who are making people fool and misinterpreting Hinduism.

And the silly things shown in the movie ; stickers ,Daan Peti ,slippers and the other things....Cherry picking !! Lord Ganesha or Sri Rama have not asked people to steal money or  slippers . Come on ! Show some real problem ! Itne bewkoof nahi hote Hindus ki sticker dekh kar  they will not hit you. They will take out  the sticker and will do whatever they want.

So the question is still there. Mr. PK ! please take us to your planet. We want to steal your slippers and if you don't wear any then we will bring one for you.

I conclude : One who belongs to Earth , know about it. If you want to make fun out of anything, Please make it through the eyes of the one who belongs to here. Had it been only a film , I would loved it but if people want to hide themselves behind the walls and think we won't react ,they are wrong.
PK is not an honest approach .It had a motive . It was a wrong concept. Had it been a secular ( That is what they want us to be) approach , It would have contained at least  a percent of sensitivity of BOL ( the film made in Pakistan). It is not that our sentiments are hurt , it is that we are not what you have shown.
This is my answer ,justification and in the most appropriate words OBJECTION .
